Retro Modern Great Room
For the main room, we wanted to add elements that would be both modern and also incorporate elements of retro futuristic styling from the era of the space race. The Sputnik chandelier along with the fully restored 1950's dining table set go a long way to bring this room the retro-futuristic vibe we were going for. The bold decision of black ceilings, trim and black back splash are complimented by the bright white features and the shiny chrome fixtures.
French Country Bedroom
In order to create a completely different vibe in the same relatively small apartment, we went with a style that was completely different for the bedroom. We used authentic antique furniture, Mid-Century Classic lamps, photos of Europe along with the French Country accent pieces.
Modern Bathroom with subtle Classic styling
In the bathroom, functionality is key. The vanity allows for full usage of both doors for storage. The large mirror and bright lighting are critical for getting ready each day. Having a closet was a priority in this bathroom so we stuck with the existing shower to reuse and reknew what was already there. We updated it with modern fixtures and matte black subway tile along the top to finish it out. We love the subtle mix of old styling such as the be vanity drawer style, beadboard ceiling and 19th century school-house glass globes in the vanity light.
